ShortcutsMan is a program that is capable of displaying information about all the shortcuts that are present on the desktop and also the items on the Start menu. The application has a simple interface that displays the shortcut name, information if the link is broken, the shortcut path, and others. All the shortcut links that lead to nowhere are highlighted in pink on the list. The application does not need to be installed on the computer for it to run. All the information that can be viewed in the program can be saved as XML, text, or HTML.
One of the main uses of the application is for fixing broken shortcuts. This can be done by clicking on the ‘Resolve Selected Shortcuts’ icon that can be seen on the main window. Once the button is clicked, all the broken shortcuts will automatically be fixed and will lead to a valid path in the system. The program also supports command line operation. The list of commands can be seen on the application’s website.
All the details for the selected item on the list will be displayed under the Properties window. This includes the hot key for the application, comments, the location of the shortcut, and the icon used for the shortcut.
