SpongeBob SquarePants - The Movie

SpongeBob SquarePants - The Movie is an adventure game largely-based on the movie of the same name. This game is published by THQ and released on October 2004. This game follows the adventures of SpongeBob and Patrick in their quest to retrieve King Neptune’s crown stolen by Plankton. Plankton then sold the crown to Shell City, and this is where the duo must go to and retrieve it. It closely follows the timeline of the movie, except for some levels not shown on the movie.

SpongeBob SquarePants - The Movie was released for three different platforms—PC, Console, and Gameboy Advance. The PC version features 8 chapters with each finished level yielding a password to be used to go to the next level. There is no save features. The Console version features 18 levels divided into different types. Aside from regular platforming levels, there is the Spongeball level with a similar gameplay to Super Monkey Ball. There are Floating Block Challenges that requires Patrick to move across a field without bumping into moving blocks. The Combat Arena Challenges requires Spongebob and Patrick to defeat three waves of enemies to get to their destination. The Sonic Wave Guitar requires SpongeBob to shoot flying Sonic Guitar Waves into hoops. There are also Driving challenges divided into main challenges and time challenges. There are four boss battles throughout the game. The GBA version features 6 progressive worlds with some bonus levels in between.
