Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, often referred to by its abbreviation, KotOR, is a role-playing video game first published in 2003. The game is set in the Star Wars universe and players have the choice to play for the light side or the dark side. Players can have two other members in the group. These companions can join in combat with enemies and the player can command them too. However, the characters will act on their own if the player doesn't command them.
The game’s alignment system keeps track of the character’s actions and dialogue. The consequences of the actions and decisions will greatly impact if the player will align with the light side or the dark side. Bad actions will result in characters joining the dark side, while good actions result in their aligning with the light side. When the character joins the dark side, the physical appearance changes and the character will have pale skin and yellow colored eyes.
Other features of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic include the following:
• Round-based combat
• Mini game events throughout the game
• two possible outcomes
• non-combat interaction through dialogue
• cinematic feel with different locations
