The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-earth II or BFMEII is a strategy video game based on the novels of J.R.R. Tolkien. This game is the second title in The Lord of the Rings series of games and it was released in 2006. In the game, players must build a base in order to produce units, do researches, gather resources, and improve defenses. Players must also defeat enemies by destroying structures. The Battle for Middle-earth II has two main game campaigns: Good and Evil. In Good Campaign, the story focuses on Elf Glorfindel, who works with the good forces in order to bring back peace to Middle-earth. In Evil Campaign, the story focuses on Sauron, who plans to eliminate the good forces. There are eight missions for each of these Campaigns.
Players must come up with a strategy in building units to make them stronger. There are five types of units (ranges, pikemen, infantry, siege, and cavalry), each having their own strengths and weaknesses. The game introduces a new element in War of the Ring Mode.
