The Sims 2: Seasons, released in 2007, is the fifth expansion pack for The Sims 2. The Sims 2 base game must be installed in the computer in order to play Seasons. This expansion pack focuses on adding weather and temperature elements to the game. By default, each season lasts for five Sim days. However, this can be changes by the user. The pack includes over 125 new items and a new neighborhood called Riverblossom Hills.
There are four seasons (summer, winter, spring, and fall) and two types of temperature (indoor and outdoor) in the game. Each season presents new activities for the Sims. Some of the new activities include gardening, planting, fishing, ice skating, building a snowman, and lots more. The expansion pack also features a new creature called ‘Plant Sim’. Plant Sims have green skin and only have three needs (love, sunlight, and water) as opposed to normal Sims who have seven. Sims can transform into Plant Sims by spraying pesticides to plants and trees excessively. However, this is a rare event and transformation happens at random.
The Sims 2: Seasons also offers new sim-based and object-based interactions. Some of which are:
• Playing marco polo in the swimming pool
• Give gifts to other Sims
• Bug catching
• Toddlers can eat snow
• Snowball fights
