The Sims 2 is a life simulation game that was initially released in 2005. It is a sequel to The Sims. In the game, players control a Sim or a family of Sims and guide them through their daily life. The aim is to lead the Sim from birth until death. Sims can get jobs and earn Simoleons to support themselves and their family. There are several skills to improve in order to get promoted and reach the highest ranking in their career. Aside from climbing the career ladder, players must also take care of the Sim’s basic needs including hygiene, bladder, environment, energy, comfort, fun, and social. Sims can interact with other Sims through different social interactions. They can visit their friends’ houses, go on a date with another Sim, fight, propose, and many more.
Players can choose to control a ready-made Sim or create their own Sim in the Create-a-Sim window. They have total control over the characteristics of the Sim, and the physical appearance, too. Users can also build and decorate houses from scratch, or choose to purchase one of the houses available in the game.
The game can have additional features and objects by installing expansion packs. There are six expansion packs for the Sims 2. These are: University, Nightlife, Open for Business, Pets, Seasons, and Free Time.
