TMPGEnc DVD Author 3 is a DVD authoring program developed by Pegasys Inc. It features DivX Ultra Authoring, which is used to access advanced features like navigation and DVD-like menu in creating DVD-like projects using DivX technology. Aside from this, adding two subtitle streams to a DVD and DivX project is also possible. The program also features DV and HDV Capture. This functionality is used to capture videos straight a DVD or HDV camcorder. There’s also the Format Importing functionality that is used for adding more source file types to your project.

TMPGEnc DVD Author 3 offers DivX HD Support allowing users to create DivX HD projects and access its advanced features. Creating menus and choosing from the predefined templates is possible as well. The program can also be used for creating own designs for the menus. It can be used to resize and position titles, text and thumbnail images. Adding note pages to the menus can also be done. The Menu Note Page feature is available for adding credits, images, introductory messages and more. The program also features Smart Rendering technology that makes the encoding process faster. This technology also allows users to edit their project and output it faster.

Development of TMPGEnc DVD Author 3 has been discontinued and has been replaced by TMPGEnc Authoring Works.
