The player can play many of the 53 teams that are qualified for the Euro Cup 2008, an international football tournament involving football teams in Europe. The game is a detailed reproduction of the tournament. It resembles the stadiums, the fields, and even the team rosters at that time to create a video game representation of the tournament.

Playing as an entire team means the player has to control all the players. Playing as a single character lets the player control only one football player in the field.
