VIPRE Internet Security is an anti-virus and anti-spyware application that protects the system against threats. It is capable of detecting rootkits, Trojans, viruses, spyware, malware, and other items that make the system vulnerable. The program makes use of advanced technology to scan the entire computer in less time. It offers computer protection in real time to ensure that the system is always free of threats.

The program’s user interface provides a brief summary of the system’s state. The main window shows the Scan Status, Protection, Updates, and Firewall. All these items have a check mark beside them when the protection is enabled. There are also tabs on the main window. These are Overview, Scan, Firewall, Manage, and Tools. VIPRE Internet Security offers three types of scanning methods:

• Quick Scan – searches for threats in common locations where they are installed
• Deep Scan – performs an in-depth scan of the entire system
• Custom Scan – allows the users to scan specific files and locations in the computer
