Registry Defrag is a Windows defragging utility tool developed and distributed by Yamicsoft. It comes with the Windows 7 Manager suite. A defragging tool. This utility is specifically designed for rebuilding and re-indexing the Windows registry in order to remove structural corruption or mistakes. Using this utility provides the computer system with a linear registry structure.
The program’s interface is clear-cut. It is a single-window interface, which shows the registry hives and current size for each hive. There are only two buttons available to fulfill the utility’s purpose. These are the Analyze and the Compact buttons. The Analyze button is used for analyzing entire Windows registry. The Compact button is used for defragging the system. After the scan is complete, it displays the percentage and compacted (KB) details. Users are given the option to compact the Windows registry or to just leave it be. The program also displays the total compacted rate and the amount of saved registry space at the bottom area of the interface.
As part of the Windows 7 Manager suite, the program can be accessed from the suite’s main interface under the “Cleaner” category. However, users may also opt to launch the program separate from the suite. This can be done from the Start Menu items or from the Windows 7 Manager folder.
