Wordfast Aligner is a program that can be used for the creation of a translation memory and for aligning target and source documents that underwent manual translation. Alignment is done in order to match the segments of the target document and the source document accordingly. In order to use the program, the user has to log in first to his or her Wordfast account in order to avail of the features of the application. For individuals who do not yet have an account they may register for free.
Wordfast Aligner is easy to use. The program only requires the user to add files and locate specific target and source documents. Upon clicking “Start Upload” the program proceeds with document processing as soon as the upload is completed.
Wordfast Aligner has automatic sensors to determine whether the document uploaded is multilingual and identifies the language used in the text as well. With this auto-detection feature in place the process is made faster and more efficient. The user can also swap languages with one click. This application supports various file formats including XLS, PPT, DOC, and TXML.
The generated translation memory file can be sent directly to the user’s e-mail account. The ZIP file is sent from the application and is saved in TMX and TM format.
